How should I prepare my lawn before service?

Mow the lawn one or two settings lower than normal shortly before service, but do not scalp it. If the soil is hard or dry, water it thoroughly  two days beforehand. The soil should be moist, not muddy or saturated when we arrive. Should I apply weed killer before or after aeration?

Accepted Answer

Avoid applying most traditional weed killers, weed-and-feed products, or pre-emergents immediately before or after overseeding because they may interfere with seed germination or damage young grass. Some seeding-compatible products may be used when applied according to their labels. If you are unsure what was applied to your lawn, please contact us before service.(Best answer is No weed killer products before or after overseeding +/- 4-5 weeks of overseeding day)

Do we as a company use or apply weed killer?

Yes. We offer an optional weed-control application designed to help manage existing weeds while protecting the overseeding process. Availability and product selection may depend on your lawn’s condition, grass type, and time of year.

What type of grass seed do you use?

Accepted Answer

We use a 100% Weed Free premium tall-fescue blend sourced from established professional turf suppliers. Our selected varieties are chosen for performance in the Charlotte-area climate, including turf quality, durability, and disease resistance.

What kind of aerators do you use?

Accepted Answer

We use a variety of aerators and spreaders. All our aerators pull cores out of the soil rather than just poking holes. We use walk-behind and stand-on aerators, as well as push and stand-on spreaders. We do NOT use pull-behind aerators.

What type of payment do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept cash, check, Zelle, and credit cards. A 3% processing fee applies to credit-card payments.

How should I water after aeration and overseeding?

Accepted Answer

Keep the seed and top layer of soil consistently moist, but not saturated. During the initial germination period, this may require two or three short watering cycles per day, depending on temperature, rainfall, soil conditions, and sprinkler coverage. As the new grass becomes established, gradually reduce the frequency and water more deeply. Typically 3-4 weeks of focused watering

Start with approximately 10–15 minutes per zone and adjust as needed. The goal is to keep the seedbed moist without creating puddles, runoff, or overly saturated soil.

When can I mow after overseeding?

Accepted Answer

Wait until most of the new grass reaches approximately 3–4 inches tall before mowing. This typically takes about three to four weeks, depending on weather, watering, and growing conditions.

How often should my lawn be aerated?

Most tall-fescue lawns benefit from core aeration once per year, typically during the fall growing season. Heavily compacted or high-traffic lawns may benefit from an additional aeration at another appropriate time of year in the spring time.
